As a consequence of the most recent Census, the 2023 Dáil constituency review made significant changes to Cork East ahead of the next General Election. The Electoral Commission decided that Mallow, Buttevant and Doneraile will no longer form part of Cork East moving to Cork North Central and Cork North West respectively.
